Badrinath Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in the town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the four sacred shrines in India known as the Chota Char Dham and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters above sea level and is surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains.

The temple is believed to have been built in the 8th century by Adi Shankara, a Hindu philosopher and theologian. It underwent several renovations and restorations over the years and is now a major pilgrimage site for Hindus.

The temple has a distinct architecture, with a conical-shaped roof made of gold gilt and a stone façade. The interior of the temple has a black stone idol of Lord Vishnu, which is considered to be one of the eight swayam vyakta kshetras, or self-manifested shrines, of Lord Vishnu.

The temple is open to devotees only for six months in a year, from May to November, due to harsh weather conditions in the region. The temple attracts a large number of devotees from all over India and the world, who come to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu and to immerse themselves in the spiritual atmosphere of the temple.
