The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.

It's always good to start with the sequel to a sports game - NFL Quarterback Club II is certainly nothing to look at but... actually, let's start with that. They take the sports team 'X's and O's' as literally as I've ever seen. There is certainly nothing to look at but...

On the positive side, the gameplay for this game, all things considered, is really spot on. Lots of different play choices, and again, all things considered, it plays really well. It is only 7 on 7, but I can't blame this game at all for that. Overall, this would have been very impressive on the Game Boy back at release - it just hasn't held up well.

Tamagotchi. I played this game so much as a kid. And, looking back on it --- how??? Cute game, yeah, but it's so very limited in what you can do. These 10 minutes that I played it is about all I need. Obviously, Tamagotchi were meant to be played with for spurts at a time (and maybe that's what I did), but I distinctly remember sitting down for long hours and playing those mini-games. Kids have crazy imaginations, man. Thanks for watching!
