Classic Crochet Granny Square:
Set-up Rnd: Ch 4, sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first DC), 2 DC in ring, [ch 2, 3 DC] 3 times in ring, ch 2, sl st in top of beg ch to join, sl st in next 2 sts and into ch-2 sp. | 12 DC, 8 chs.
Rnd 2: Ch 2 (counts as first DC here and throughout), 2 DC in same sp, [ch 1, sk next 3 DC, (3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC) in next ch-2 sp] three times, ch 1, sk next 3 DC, (3 DC, ch 2) in first ch-2 sp, sl st in top of beg ch to join, sl st in next 2 sts and into ch-2 sp . | 24 DC, 12 chs.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 DC in same sp, [ch 1, sk next 3 DC, 3 DC in ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk next 3 DC, (3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC) in next ch-2 sp] three times, ch 1, sk next 3 DC, 3 DC ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk next 3 DC, (3 DC, ch 2) in first ch-2 sp, sl st in top of beg ch to join, sl st in next 2 sts and into ch-2 sp. | 36 DC, 16 chs.
