Neptunus is truly an amazing item. The Planetarium offers players an interesting conundrum; on one hand, Treasure Rooms (more commonly known as Item Rooms) offer a random pedestal that varies very widely from utterly useless or otherwise self-destructive items (like Kamikaze) to run-winning items (like Holy Mantle). The Planetarium requires you to skip Treasure Rooms in order to increase the odds of finding one on a future floor, usually only guaranteeing one after skipping five Item Rooms. And at that point, you have about a 50% chance of finding a truly powerful Planetarium item, such as Neptunus, Terra, Mercurius, Venus, Uranus, or Luna. Neptunus turns your normal tear rate into a self-charging gatling gun, making even the lowest of tear rates tolerable. It's one of my favorites, and I'll show you why.
I hope you have a great day!
