The essayist was born as Bertrand Arthur William Russell on 18 May 1872 and he died on 2 February 1970. He is always remembered in the English literature for his multiple contributions as a British philosopher, social critic as well as a logician. His work has made a great impact on various fields including set theory, mathematics, logic, computer science, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, linguistics, philosophy of language, metaphysics and epistemology. As a Nobel laureate, public intellectual, political activist and public intellectual, he has contributed a large ideas and philosophies to the modern society.
The essayist distinguishes knowledge from wisdom. He has defined knowledge as the garnering of facts and information. On the other hand, wisdom is the practical application and use of the knowledge in order to create the value.
