South Metro Fire Rescue’s newest recruits are already hard at work in Fire Academy Class 25-2. Each of them is training to protect lives, property, and the communities we proudly serve. This is where the foundation of fast, effective emergency response begins with the rigorous preparation, dedication, and heart it takes to become a firefighter.

Behind every emergency response is months of training, teamwork, and commitment to public service. These recruits are stepping up to ensure that when our community calls, we’re ready to respond safely and effectively.

But like many fire departments across the state, South Metro is facing serious financial challenges due to recent state legislation and significantly increasing costs. Without additional revenue by 2026, we may not be able to maintain the high level of fire and emergency services our residents expect and rely on including the critical resources it takes to train and equip the next generation of firefighters.

Despite these challenges, SMFR remains deeply committed to protecting our community and preparing for whatever lies ahead. Supporting Fire and EMS training today means a safer, more resilient tomorrow for us all.
