“萨满”是通古斯地区原住民们的宗教雏形，而萨满乐队的成员来自东北和内蒙古，“萨满”是队员们信仰的交集。萨满乐队的雏形是一支二人电子组合，最早的成员是，风格以Nu-Breakbeat为主。两位乐手猴子和晓宇以及后来的曲铭的加入为乐队带来了工业和新金的元素，使他们的音乐与号称“重型基地”的长春更靠谱了一些。或许这些他们自称为“玩票”性质的东西从风格到编配都不甚成熟，但这四个人在长春这个重型音乐统治下的工业城市发出了不一样的声音。 07年正式以“萨满乐队”的名字登台演出，整体的风格也从掺杂了金属元素的EBM和Nu-Breakbeat改为以工业金属、另类金属为主的真正意义上的重型音乐。乐队转型之初自称是一支Rammstein的致敬乐队，明显受到包括KMFDM、Deathstar和诸多Neue Deutsche Haerte乐队在内的工业金属及其边缘风格的影响。确定的五人阵容为：高亚鑫（程序/采样），小王老师（主唱），猴子（吉他），晓宇（吉他），齐骥（贝司）。乐队于2009年夏发行EP。
