Are you interested in using a transparent color on your marks in Tableau? Why should you consider it? And how exactly can you add a transparent color as an option in Tableau?

Transparent colors are helpful for all sorts of reasons. To name a few; they don't show up highlighted blue when selected, you can use them to call-out some points but not others (eg points of interest in a line graph) and you can even use it to assemble creative worksheets like thermometers that fill up as a value increases.

To use transparent colors in Tableau, you'll need to add the custom "Hex" code FFFFFF00 to a color palette in your Tableau Preferences file. Check out this video as well as the video linked at the end of this video to learn how!
