Описание к видео 240912 Diary - London Day 2

Now that we have moved into the apartment, organising the day appeared to be more straightforward. As usual, my Mum would cook nasi lemak, and we had our teh tarik in the morning. Today, we would be picking up the keys for Irfan's accommodations as well as Irfan attending a short orientation at his campus near Guy's.

While he was with his group, we explored Borough High Street, the nearest shopping area to his flat. Borough Market was there but we thought that it was a bit too touristy. We explored the banks and places for groceries. We also explored a few cafes around there and bought some stuff for his flat.

Next, we went to the Strand Campus to pick up his electronic visa card, before stopping at Oxford Street for more shopping. Lunch was courtesy of an Indian restaurant new campus and it was Irfan's first taste of chicken tikka masala, the national dish of England! His apartment was bigger than we thought, en suite with a common kitchen which was reasonably big. He was the first one to move in and got the pick of the best cupboard in the kitchen. Being in Southwark, getting into Central London proper would mean a trip on the tube. His nearest tube station would be about a five-minute walk away.

Irfan was already looking forward to starting his term. The flat looked really comfortable, although there would be a ten-minute walk to his campus. I was sure he would get used to it!

By the time we were done, I could feel myself shutting down. I went straight to bed after an early dinner. I woke up ten hours later refreshed. That was the jet lag for you ...
