Ms. Shweta Venkat is currently the MGNF fellow for the district of South Garo hills, Meghalaya. The fellowship involves academic support from school of Public policy of Indian Institute of Management Banglore, under SANKAP program of Ministry of Skill development and Entrepreneurship with funding from World Bank. With Masters in Social Work and Bachelors in Engineering, She firmly believes that equitable Education and Skill development are powerful tools to empower communities by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.In the past two years, shweta has worked with local tribal communities of the district in developing agriculture and service based value chains. With focus on livelihood based skilling, efforts to Vocationalise school education was undertaken in government schools of the district to create demand based local jobs. She has been involved in Planning and monitoring of Boder area development projects in the district and has worked closely with horticulture, tourism and education department in skilling related development efforts.

Mr. Meghan Kadam is currently working as a Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow with the District Administration of West Garo Hills, Meghalaya on behalf of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. Previously, he worked as a Project Assistant to Prof S. Irudaya Rajan at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram.He holds an MA in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK. His primary interests lie at the intersection of informality, migration, and forced displacement in the context of South Asia. As an MGN fellow, he has been responsible for facilitating institutional and Human Resource capacity building at the district level as part of the World Bank funded Project titled Skills Acquisition for Knowledge Awareness and Livelihoods Promotion(SANKALP). Notably, he has been instrumental in aiding the creation of Meghalaya’s first District Nodal Skill Centre at Tura for the purposes of effective planning, coordination, management, monitoring, and evaluation of all skill related interventions across all departmental stakeholders in West Garo Hills district.
