Michael Barrington Presents: The French Resistance 1941-45
Through the medium of his two historical novels, Let the Peacock Sing and No Room for Heroes, Dr. Barrington brings alive a cast of real and imaginary characters who, supported by agents trained in England, created a formidable resistance to the German occupation. Their focus was on sabotage, gathering intelligence for the allies, helping Jewish people hide or escape, and escorting downed allied airmen into Spain. And sometimes they fell in love. In support of D-Day, they helped disrupt German maneuvers and destroyed their supply lines. Barrington will lead an intriguing presentation followed by a Q&A.

Barrington specializes in historical fiction and has written ten books. He's written Let the Peacock Sing, The Ethiopian Affair, Becoming Anya, The Baron of Bengal Street, and No Room for Heroes. The Bishop Wears No Drawers is a memoir of ten years as a missionary in Africa where he was stood up to be shot. Passage to Murder is a mystery novel set in San Francisco.
