Hi I'm Matt and in this video I am bench testing the position sensor that is used in Volkswagen's Audi's Skoda's Seat's. Other manufacturers may use a similar sensor.
This is a magnetic field sensor rather than a variable resistor with a resistor track.
I suppose it won't have any issues with the track wearing out in places.

when I put the two halves of the egr valve back together, and opened and closed the egr valve by hand, I had a signal range from 0.75 v to 3.35 v
