From Camping to Glamping: Winter Hiking, Arches, Firebox Stoves, Freezing Temps, Tent to Hotel

I meant to spend a couple nights in the desert exploring several slot canyons, but while I was on my way there I was getting notifications about flash flooding in the area where I would be camping. So, I decided to change plans. As I was heading towards Southern Utah anyway, I went to the Moab area again, even though we've been there a few times already in the last month or two. I just wanted to get outside and get away from society a bit. I often go to the same places over and over. It makes it easy. I just like getting away, even if it is to the same places a lot. There's a time for new adventures and seeing new things — we do that a lot throughout the year, too.

It was great to sit and relax and do nothing. I've been exhausted and burned out of society lately (well, for many years). I spent hours just hanging around camp, cooking food, watching birds fly around, journaling, meditating, and just being. Megan originally was going to stay home for the weekend but decided to spontaneously meet up with me. We hiked around Moab and in Arches National Park and just took it easy. But she didn't bring along any camping gear, so we ended up moving from camping to glamping mode, and got a hotel. It turned out to be just fine, though, as a snow storm came through that evening, and I was happy to avoid sitting in the freezing tent all night.

This may be the last trip to Moab until next winter. We'll see.

As usual, I used a lot of Firebox gear, which you can get some too at: https://fireboxstove.com/
Tell them Shaun sent you. :)

I'm still not sure what I'm doing with these videos. For now, I'm just logging adventures for memories and giggles. Maybe someday I'll take it seriously. Or not. I'm not trying to be a YouTuber or whatever. But thanks for watching and hanging out with me. Friendly feedback always welcome.

Give love, let go.

Cheers.
