Pine marten detection in the Churnet Valley

Описание к видео Pine marten detection in the Churnet Valley

Meet Henry, a dog trained to sniff out pine marten poo! His handler Louise joined our project officer Bryony to pinpoint areas of interest within woodland in the Churnet Valley after a trail camera caught an unexpected glimpse of a marten.

Bryony will place trail cameras in the areas Henry was interested in and see if she captures anymore marten footage.

Trail cams are routinely used by our teams to monitor habitats. Bryony was using them to see what wildlife is using this area of woodland. However, as there hadn't been any reported sightings of pine marten in the area for many years, she was very shocked to see one when checking one of her woodland monitoring cameras.
