JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I believe and ezgo golf cart, from 1984 and a robin engine
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: How long has this been going on with your EZGO golf cart?
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: What have you tried so far?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Just today, tried adjusting the throttle cablw Cable
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Nope
Curtis B.: Technician: Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !
Curtis B.: Technician: I don't know it all, but maybe together we can get you a satisfactory answer!
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Alright, sweet
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: what are you thinking?
Curtis B.: Technician: This engine runs in both directions and does not use the transmission to change direction.
Curtis B.: Technician: With it being a two cycle, check the exhaust when in forward, to see if the exhaust could be plugged.
Curtis B.: Technician: Best done by removing exhaust pipe at the muffler.
Curtis B.: Technician: Did this start all at once or has it gotten worse with time?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: It just started doing it today
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: You think because it goes in reverse and not forward it could be a clog in the exhaust?
Curtis B.: Technician: Just a thought.
Curtis B.: Technician: Just started today, doesn't sound like plugged exhaust, But with two cycles, it turns the engine in the opposite direction and starts.
Curtis B.: Technician: All systems stay the same, fuel ,air, spark.
Curtis B.: Technician: Does working the choke make any difference?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: That didn’t do anything?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: What should i try next?
Curtis B.: Technician: choke mase no difference?
Curtis B.: Technician: Did you try the exhaust?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Yeah i believe the exhaust is clear cuz I’ve ran through it no problem and got it going a week ago, but now it goes really slow in forward and normal in reverse.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I have adjusted the cable things or the “governor” but no change
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: If i sit on it for a few minutes the speed picks up for a second but then goes back down
Curtis B.: Technician: Remove the air filter element and try it.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Ok
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: That didn’t change anything
Curtis B.: Technician: Looking through the service manual it only mentions the ignition timing, to be different for forward and reverse, and is changed by moving the impulse coil next to the flywheel.?
Curtis B.: Technician: As one item that would cause loss of power.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Thank you, * * try and mess with it tomorrow and i will get back with you on the results
Curtis B.: Technician: OK
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I was able to fix it, you were right the timing was completely off and I adjusted it a couple times, because I wasn’t to sure which way it goes.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Now it runs great again.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Thank you
Curtis B.: Technician: Good job!
Curtis B.: Technician: Thanks,
