Samsung T7 Shield SSD teardown after water spill to check for water damage inside Samsung the t7 shield case and check build quality close look.

Do not open your Samsung t7 shield. It will ruin the water proofing and make the ssd drive look damaged.

I spilled hot coffee in a drawer where the t7 shield was getting the ssd soaked with spilled coffee.

After 1 hour of cleaning the drawer and emptying all the electronics I had in that drawer and wiping them dry.
A USB-c hub, the Samsung t7 and a pair of tws earphones were the most water damaged ones.
Thankfully the camera, lenses and audio recorder were on the other side of that same drawer.

SSD was fine so it would be better not to open it especially after seeing how much water proofing is put inside the t7 shield. Now I'm not sure it's water tight anymore. So don't open your t7 shield especially considering mine was still in warranty. Tested it the next day and it works fine at full speed.

Samsung T7 Shield is covered in a soft rubber-like material that smelled like inflatable beach toys to me. The outer layer is soft and grippy so you have less chances to drop the T7 Shield.
