A shocking late-night traffic stop in Tampa reveals the truth behind a bartender’s lies. Around 12:44 AM on October 30, 2024, Officer Thomas Baden of the Tampa Police Department noticed a silver 2022 Nissan Rogue driving without taillights near 4th Avenue East and 21st Street North. What started as a routine stop quickly escalated into a dramatic arrest.

The driver, later identified as Marina Estrella Trujillo, initially claimed she was returning from work at Long Ash Cigars in Ybor City. She insisted she had no valid license and even gave a false name and date of birth. But a DHSMV check exposed her deception: not only was her identity false, but she also had a prior conviction for driving with a suspended license.

Despite repeated chances to come clean, Marina denied having a middle name and resisted proper identification. Officer Baden placed her under arrest, and Officer Jessica Parks conducted a search before transport. Inside the vehicle, police discovered a small amount of cannabis in the center console. While DUI was not investigated, the charges were serious:
