Frank Thomalla, from the Stockholm Environment Institute, introduces his presentation on increasing natural hazard and climate change risk in the Asia Pacific Region (1.00). He outlines specific disaster risks in the region (3.20) and then goes into details on tropical cyclone number (5.15). The Post-2015 agenda on disaster risk reduction (7.30) relates to COP21 and the Sustainable Development Goals. Thomalla states that worldwide disaster rates have almost quadrupled in the last 30 years (11.30). He notes the UNFCCC Climate Change Agreement must have explicit regard to the importance of disaster risk reduction (16.40). To conclude he suggests the transformations that are needed (21.00).
