Описание к видео [SSBB hack] - Updating Great Bay

DSX8 released the first import of Great Bay for Brawl when OBJ importing became possible for Brawl. The shaders were flat, and all the objects were rigged to a single bone each. Anyway, it was fun to play.

Shortly after that, Ryan modified some of the textures in DSX8's Great Bay and gave the stage some depth. I helped by putting on some swimmable water with new looks.

Time after that, I found out what to change to give the stage real shading, but I gave it the same lighting characters had. That didn't let me edit the lighting in a way that looked fine on both stage and characters.

Once DAE importing was complete for Brawl, DSX8 started working in a better version of the stage, with a rigged turtle, giants in the background and vertex colors for the background. However, that stage hasn't been finished nor released yet.

So I've gone back to that version I tweaked once, and I've tweaked it a little more. I've not animated the turtle, nor included giants, nor animated anything. I've just tweaked the existing stage available in the vault.

I've smoothed the models, I've given some basic vertex colors to some parts of the stage, I've re-made the animation of the water, I've fixed the turtle (it looked really awful with some inverted polygons and wrong mapping), I've made some collision changes (including grabbable ledges, I don't know why but there weren't any), and made a better lighting in general for stage and characters. I could have spent more time tweaking it better, animating other small details, but I guess this is enough for now. The stage can be played better, looks better, and feels decent.

So all the credit to DSX8, who made this stage in the beginning.

It's supposed to be used over Jungle Japes, so get your rel in lakora.us/rel in case you want to use it. There's 2 versions, one with swimmable water (aka Brawl water) and another without it.
