Описание к видео 3D Animation: How a Owen Submachine Gun works

The Owen gun was an Australian submachine gun chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, designed by Evelyn Owen in 1939. It was used by the Australian Army from 1943 until the mid-1960s. Owen, an Australian inventor, was 24 years old when he demonstrated his first prototype to Australian Army ordnance officers in July 1939. He died from cardiac syncope on 1 April 1949 at the age of 33. The Owen is a blowback, open bolt design with a top-mounted magazine and a side-mounted sight. Approximately 45,000 Owens were produced from 1942 to 1944. The Owen was later used by Australian troops in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. It remained a standard weapon of the Australian Army until the mid-1960s.
