Nick Conklin, Product Category Manager at TFO Rods, walks through the new TFO Dispatch Fly Reel in this in-house overview, breaking down reel sizes, construction, materials, and drag system design.

The Dispatch is a three reel family covering line weights from 3-weight through 8-weight fly rods, offered in three sizes (Size I - 3/4wt; Size II - 5/6wt; Size III - 7/8wt) to match a wide range of fly rod setups. Built with a combination of cast and fully machined anodized aluminum components, the Dispatch reel is lightweight, durable, and designed to handle both freshwater and light saltwater environments, including sandy, gritty, and dirty conditions.

Nick explains the fully sealed drag system, tool-free maintenance design, and how the reel can be easily converted from left hand to right hand retrieve using the internal clutch bearing system. Like all TFO reels, the Dispatch ships standard with a left hand retrieve and requires no tools for adjustment or basic servicing.

Each Dispatch Fly Reel includes a neoprene pouch for secure storage and travel, and is available in three sizes to cover a wide range of fly fishing applications.
