Polling is underway in Bengaluru's Jayanagar assembly seat. According to election officials, the voting percentage recorded till 9 am was 10 per cent. The election was earlier countermanded after the death of BJP candidate BN Vijayakumar, who was holding the seat. The BJP has nominated Mr Vijaykumar’s brother BN Prahlad as its candidate; the Congress has fielded senior party leader and former minister Ramalinga Reddy's daughter Sowmya Reddy. The constituency is seeing a direct contest between the BJP and the Congress candidates.
