Nepenthes rafflesiana

Описание к видео Nepenthes rafflesiana

Nepenthes rafflesiana is a lowland species of tropical pitcher plant from Southeast Asia, mainly found in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. There are a variety of forms from the more common to giant types. In situ, rafflesiana can be found growing in peat swamps and open forests where it can climb well over 20 feet into the tree tops. Although it felt like I was going to bake admiring them in the wild, we keep our plants around 84-88F in the day with nights never below 60. We find they are more forgiving of cooler temps than the other lowlanders we grow here. Mix this with bright shade and 80% humidity, and they seem to thrive. Mixtures of peat and perlite or sphagnum work well at a potting medium for us.
