A "Greek Gift Sacrifice" From Alekhine The Fourth

Описание к видео A "Greek Gift Sacrifice" From Alekhine The Fourth

This brilliant attacking game the fourth World Chess Champion Alexander Alekhine played during a clock simul given in 1931 in Reykjavik (+8 -1 =1). Alekhine's opponent is Asmundur Asgeirsson, Icelandic champion who strangely overlooks White's "Greek Gift Sacrifice"! Very quickly the attack flourishes and more sacrifices appear on the board, first a Rook offer, then an exchange sacrifice and finally with a Queen sacrifice Alekhine checkmates his opponent! As Alekhine writes in his book "My Best Games of Chess,1908-1937", "The mating position is pure and for a practical game economical enough"!
