Endless BNSF/UP Trains At Mojave, CA! (7/1/24) Post-Derailment Action!

Trains, trains, trains and more trains! On June 30th, Union Pacific's MRVLB 29 derailed at Woodford on the Mojave subdivision. Although a minor derailment, only 3 cars and no injuries, the line was tied up for several hours and many crews wound up outlawed.

By the Monday morning after the derailment, the plug at Woodford has been cleared, and BNSF and UP started to get things moving again. The normal Monday maintenance of way activities were postponed to allow the two railroads to get the mountain back on track. This was an unplanned video, when I rolled into Mojave and saw 3 trains in the line of sight, stopping seemed a foregone conclusion. They kept coming too, every time I would try to pack up and move towards my destination of Bakersfield, another train would show up. Incredible how busy it gets after these incidents and this video doesn't even account for the 6-7+ hours the railroad was open before I arrived on scene. I suspect that if I was there for that, the video may have broke 2 hours!
