In this video, I will demonstrate my techniques for painting a clear glass vase along with some delicate magnolia flowers on a twig. Painting transparent objects can be challenging, but I will show you how to capture the form of a glass vase while still making it look transparent. Let's get started!

About Colors

I usually mix colors on my palette based on the color of the subjects I am going to paint. By blending different hues and diluting them with water, I can achieve the desired value and tone of the color. 'Value' refers to the lightness or darkness of a color, while 'tone' refers to the cooler or warmer spectrum.

To create the vase, I mixed ivory black with a small amount of blue and purple color. Then I added more water to the mixture. For the flowers, I used magenta and purple hues with a little bit of ivory black.

It's crucial to identify the color spectrum of the original subject you want to paint and attempt to mix colors and their shades as closely as feasible to achieve the desired outcome.
