Today was like meeting an old friend, the Roland JX-3P was my first proper synthesizer and getting my hands on the JX-03 really made me jump up and down with pure joy.

Now, as you all know i dont really do demos, but i thought id just connect the cameras when testing it for the first time, noodling away for ages and ages. There really is no focus on the music, so pardon my random crappy playing.. i just wanted to try and capture the polyphonic capabilities with long release times and such.

First thing i noticed, damn it sounds good, it is as good as i remember my old 3P, a pure joy playing and the compact size / knobs did not really bother me at all. And its also very well built, w partial top metal casing.

One important note, you might see the JP08 and JU06 flicker when i use the pitch bender etc, this is because all synths are MIDI chained from the NLA1.. however i can assure you that they are muted in the mixer and the only synth you hear is the JX03 at all times.

One thing i noticed, the output is very HOT, so there might be some overload at times - i didnt really dial in a sweet spot. Oh and I use NO FX the first 20 minutes, not even the built in delay and/or chorus. I wanted to capture the sound as is. NOTE: at 20.45 i turn on some external simple delay and reverb on the MS-70 to finish off the noodle session :)

Cheers, i hope this video is helpful and informational, even though i dont say anything... i always let the synths do the talking.

Cheers!
