The topic of slavery often confounds, frustrates, and in some cases angers many Americans. In this webinar we explore the legacy of slavery on the modern American family through an educational, socio-political, and economic lens. This session offers free resources and strategies for educators and parents to confidently have courageous conversations about race with children and youth.

Usha Satish, Ed.M is an educator, manager of teacher development at Teach For America, and history enthusiast. She gives the game on the legacy of slavery on white families and non-Black families of color. Courtenay O'Connor is a Montessori School Director and shares how families should be framing these conversations with their children in an age-appropriate way.
