We live in times no other generation has experienced. Over the past 30 years, technology has steadily increased the role it plays in our societies – now we are dependent on it in almost every aspect of our lives. Digitalisation and technology will shape the future of humanity, and we are far from seeing the final form this takes or where it will lead us.

How do we make sure that we remain human in this increasingly high-tech world? That nobody will be left behind? That technology serves humans, not the other way round?

These questions keep many awake in virtually all corners of the globe.

In her first TEDx talk, Ewelina Jelenkowska-Lucà, Head of the Communication Unit in DG Connect, will take us on a journey that starts in Poland and travels to Brussels, leading us through the digital transformation that is shaping the future of the European Union and of human kind.

Her talk explains the European approach to technology and measures put in place to make sure that the digital transformation is an inclusive transformation, with people at its heart. Già capo settore stampa e media della Rappresentanza in Italia della Commissione europea, dal 2017 è a capo dell'unità comunicazione di DG Connect, gestendo quotidianamente la comunicazione esterna della Direzione Generale in materia di digitale.

Laureata in legge in Polonia e in Italia, ha iniziato a lavorare per le istituzioni europee nel 2003, prima per la Corte di Giustizia e poi per la Commissione europea, a Bruxelles, Varsavia e Roma.
