MGM166 LOSAT: Kinetic Killer

What if you could have the velocity of a tank dart and the power of a missile?

Meet the MGM-166 LOSAT, a Tier IV missile carrier that fires 80 kg near-hypersonic guided projectiles that blur the line between the traditional darts and missiles. Essentially, the MGM-166A dart is a kinetic penetrator with a booster strapped to it, granting it incredible velocity and guided capabilities.

Although the LOSAT didn’t enter service — the logistical footprint alone was too much of a political cost to bear — it was on the cusp of revolutionizing anti-tank warfare, paving the way for the more mobile and compact CKEM systems.


Housing twelve MGM-166A missiles in a 6x2 configuration, the LOSAT is a weapon of pure brute force. Compared to other missiles and guided projectiles at its tier, it boasts one of the highest damage and velocity values, dealing over 13,000 damage and traveling at 1,520 metres per second.

Each of the two launchers can be fired independently, letting you stagger shots and maintain pressure, or fire both in quick succession for a damage spike.

As a bonus, the MGM-166 LOSAT comes with the Felon X drone for scouting, though it can also be used to repel flankers with a .50 cal machine gun when you can’t reveal or expose yourself.


In MWT: Tank Battles, the MGM-166 LOSAT rides on the CCVL chassis — an agile, mobile testbed from the 1980s. Sitting low to the ground, it gives the missile carrier a rather low profile for sneaking and peeking, though it lacks armor to survive a direct standoff.

This makes the LOSAT a team-oriented vehicle, excelling in support roles and providing overwhelming power under the cover of allied armor and anti-air.
