A patient has knee arthritis and knee pain.
They might have been given a steroid shot or a gel shot or even been told they need a knee replacement!
No one should have joint replacement surgery without trying less risky alternatives.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) might still help!
It is a regenerative medicine injection that could decrease pain and increase function.....delaying or eliminating the need for surgery! Stop having steroid shots.
I will often draw 120cc of blood....inject 8 cc..... and the platelet dose is effectively double what we normally do for less advanced knee arthritis.

Patients trust a surgeon pushing nonsurgical options and for some patients the chance of less pain and better function....even if it is a low chance....is a good option.
