Concrete steel are produced in large quantities and must be permanently tested for production control. Depending on the manufacturing standard, the surface form of the reinforcing steel varies.

ZwickRoell has developed robotic testing systems for testing on concrete steel. For the automatic tensile test on concrete steel, specimens of bar stock are cut to length, separated from mats and lattice girders and manually filled into magazines. Fully automatic testing can then be carried out.

A process for artificial aging at 100 °C can also be integrated into such a testing system. In this process, the cross sections are automatically determined with high accuracy in accordance with the standards and, depending on the test result, the specimens are also optionally sorted for subsequent visual inspection.
