The hauntingly beautiful Elegie pour la mort d’un berger (Elegy for the death of a shepherd) by Bernard Andres is an absolute favourite work of mine. As all of Bernard’s works it’s got a fantastic mix of ambience, emotion, and unusual performance techniques that create a very special modern take on classical harp performance. I’ll probably post some of the more dramatic variations from the piece later on because it really is wonderful.

I’m playing this on Saturday at my recital at All saints arts at All Saints Church, Clifton, Bristol - entry is free with a retiring collection.
