💟QUICK to memorize! 👍🏼EASY crochet stitches with a 2 ROW REPEAT. Blanket, Wrap, Scarves, etc.

This simple stitch combination would make a terrific blanket, scarf, etc. The stitch pattern is a two row repeat and you need a multiple of 9 chs plus 1 to create any size crochet project you wish. The full written instructions are further below. ⬇⬇

HOW TO SLOW A VIDEO:

On desktop:

U.S. half double crochet (hdc) = U.K. half treble (htr)
U.S. double crochet (dc) = U.K. treble (tr)

ABBREVIATIONS:

FC - foundation chain (starting chain)
ch(s) - chain(s)
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
dc2tog - double crochet 2 together
YO - yarn over
st(s) - stitch(es)
sk - skip
SPECIAL STITCHES:

Double Crochet 2 Together (dc2tog) - * YO, insert hook into designated st, YO and draw back through, YO and draw through 2 loops * Repeat from * to * 1 more time. YO and draw through all 3 loops on hook.


WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS:

FC: Ch a multiple of 9 + 1.

Row 1: In 2nd ch from hook, sc. Ch 1, sk 3 chs, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) all in next ch, ch 1, sk 3 chs, sc in next ch, * sc in next ch, ch 1, sk 3 chs, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) all in next ch, ch 1, sk 3 chs, sc in next ch * Repeat from * to * across. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), sk ch-1 sp, sk next st, dc in next st, * ch 3, sk next st, (sc, ch 3, sc) all in ch-2 sp, ch 3, sk next st, dc2tog using next st and… sk next st, sk next ch-1 sp, sk next 2 sts, sk next ch-1 sp, sk next st, …finish dc2tog using next st * Repeat from * to * across. For last dc2tog, use middle dc from previous row and sc from previous row. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) all in ch-3 sp, ch 1, sc in ch-3 sp, * sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) all in ch-3 sp, ch 1, sc in ch-3 sp * Repeat from * to * across working last sc into dc from previous row rather than ch-3 sp. Turn.

Repeat Row 2 and Row 3 for pattern.
