Huddersfield Town unveiled one of the worst kits of all time, featuring an extra large Paddy Power slash logo for the 2019-20 season. As soon as the jersey was launched, the club received a lot of criticism for over-commercialisation. The FA fined the club £50,000 for breaching the advertising regulations after the club played their pre-season friendly against Rochdale wearing the same.

However, later it was found to be a prank, engineered to highlight that football shirts are not billboards. Interestingly, many football teams have betting companies as their kit sponsors, which dangerously promotes gambling among young football fans.

As part of the ‘Save Our Shirt’ campaign, the deal allowed Paddy Power to sponsor the Terriers without putting their logo on the club kits. The one-off fake jerseys were subsequently auctioned, raising more than £30,000 for charity.
