This video explain the undesired colonial rule in Nigeria by every administration from 1914 amalgamation to independence in 1960. We explain how each of the 10 Governors (Governor Generals) ruled Nigeria. Their famous quotes are also highlighted.
On January 1, 1914, Lord Frederick Lugard, the governor of both the Northern Nigeria Protectorate and the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria, signed a document consolidating the two.
By so doing, he established the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria.
For the next 46 years, from 1914 to 1960, Nigeria was ruled by British Colonial masters.
Between 1914 and 1919 the title of Governor General was adopted.
This would later be changed to Governor from 1919 to 1954.
During this period, Nigeria had about 10 colonial rulers.
