1200-Year-Old Vinayagar, Murugan & Kotravai Statues Found in Tamil Nadu 🛕 | Rare Pallava-Era Discovery!

In a remarkable archaeological find, ancient stone sculptures of Lord Vinayagar, Lord Murugan, and Goddess Kotravai, believed to be around 1200 years old, have been discovered in T. Nallalam village, near Marakkanam, in Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu. 📍🪨

Historians confirm that these sculptures belong to the Pallava era, most likely dating back to the 8th century CE. Each sculpture reflects the iconic Pallava craftsmanship and religious symbolism of ancient South India. 🏛️

🔸 The Vinayagar statue is seen in padmasana posture with a majestic crown, large ears, and a rounded belly, holding multiple weapons.
🔸 The Murugan statue is uniquely depicted seated atop an elephant, holding a vel (spear) and accompanied by his sacred animal, seval (rooster).
🔸 The Kotravai statue features eight hands holding weapons like the chakra, shankha, bow, and shield — symbolizing divine feminine power and protection. 🙏⚔️

Local villagers, upon discovering the sculptures, have cleaned the site and started worshipping them with devotion, aiming to preserve this incredible piece of Tamil heritage. The discovery sheds new light on ancient Pallava temple structures and their regional influence.
