Modifying My Fidelity Stellarosa w/ Matt Oram (SHORT EDIT)

Last month, I was fortunate enough to get to spend a day with the wonderful Matt Oram at Fidelity Guitars in Ely. I drove over to his workshop, where he took my Stellarosa and gave it a complete luthier's overhaul.

The original owner had modified it by installing a Jaguar-style pickup right next to the bridge - which sounded good, but couldn't really have been more different from the Gold Foil in the middle. Set the amp up to sound great with the Jag, and the GF sounded muddy; dial the rig in for the GF, and the Jag was so bright it'd shred your eardrums. On their own they were epic; but together in a single instrument, they just didn't play nicely together.

So after exchanging a few emails with Matt, we put a plan in place to tweak the instrument and make it much more to my tastes. The Gold Foil was my favourite sound in the guitar, so I bought a second one from Marc at Mojo - and then Matt set about re-routing the guitar and crafting a new pickguard to accommodate the pair of them.
