Day 31 : Jinxed !!!
And if I’m not, it sure looked like it today...
I started section LA07, the last one before I complete the Trans America Trail, and everything was doing well: really nice trails, some really technical parts but overall a really nice section.
The last stretch, probably about 5 miles, was supposed to go through an old River bed (perhaps there is a river flowing there when it’s not so dry ...) and then connect to a short road that leads to the end of the section.
Welllllll, on my way down to the river bed, I ended up at a big drop off! Impossible to pass. There was a sketchy possibility to go around but when I walked the trail I couldn’t find a way to go back on the trail. Soooo, I just spent the night where I was with the intention to backtrack in the Morning.
It was a very nice camp spot and with the full moon and few clouds it was really pretty and bright at night.
5 more miles.. so close ... will I make it tomorrow??
