In his interview, Praful Patel denies all the claims made by the former CAG saying that he is deeply saddened that such a reputed official chose to make such allegations against him that are unsubstantiated. Praful Patel defended the EGoM's decision to purchase a total of 68 planes against the planned 28 planes that cost the exchequer an additional $5 billion saying the decision to purchase was a collective decision of the Board under the purview of P Chidambaram and he individually had no influence on the matter. He also expressed great anger against Rai and said that a man of such dignity should not have stooped to such a level.
