Homemade Topical Finasteride Results (5 months)

Описание к видео Homemade Topical Finasteride Results (5 months)

In this experiment I use a homemade topical Finasteride solution (ingredients listed below) applied every night at an equivalent dose of 0.1mg per day alongside micro-needling. I did this for 5 months in an attempt to regrow hair on my thinning regions.

HOW TO MAKE TOPICAL FINASTERIDE AT HOME

Do this at your own risk, I am not a chemist, I found the ratio's on a Reddit thread. It may not have been completely clear how I made the solution so it is as follows:

For a 60ml glass bottle you would add

42ml ethanol. This is 96% alcohol and the exact product I bought was https://eddapharma.com/en/producto/al.... I deliberated for a long time about the concentration, but to clarify 96% is safe for my skin and doesn't cause any irritation or burning.
16ml Transcutol. I found Transcutol CG (cosmetic grade), though I believe Transcutol P would be pharmaceutical grade. I got it from Gatte Fosse https://www.gattefosse.com/personal-c... I wanted to buy it but after a long back and forth email exchange with a woman who thought that because I was a company (9to5strength) I was interested in large quantities (I think she quotes me per 3200kg) it ultimately resulted in me being sent the free sample that you can request on their website.
2ml Tween 80. This is from Cosmetics Made Easy https://cosmeticsmadeeasy.co.uk/produ... and goes by the name Polysorbate 80.
Finasteride pills. I ordered these online after filling out a form about my level of hair loss. For concentrations, you want to consider how many ml of the solution you are applying to your scalp (either 1ml or 2ml) and working out how many pills that will be per application. I initially started with 3 pills per 60ml, and applied 2ml per night, meaning across 30 nights I got through 3 pills, i.e. 3 / 30 = 0.1 pills or 0.1 mg per day

I later switched to 6 pills per 60ml and only 1ml of solution, it was quite watery so 2ml felt excessive. If I did this again I would say 0.2 to 0.25mg per day would be the best starting point, and this would mean all ingredients cost around £4/month (~$5).

I don't know whether I'm a non-responder, if I needed to wait longer, or if I needed a higher concentration. Ultimately my decision is to stay away from Finasteride and look for safer or more natural alternatives.
