2017 Seabold Chardonnay Pelio Vineyard

We just offered the Olson Vineyard and now we are offering the Pelio Vineyard Chardonnay. Both of the vineyards have very unique soils and micro climates which will make for a fun side by side!

The Pelio Vineyard is just 8 miles from the coast, and has one of the coldest climates in the region. The wines that come from this area tend to be much more mineral driven. There are still notes of golden apple, pineapple and other bright fruits, but it is the clear notes of chalk and salinity that drives the wine. The soils in the vineyard are almost all marine seabed which makes the wine drink very similar to great Chablis!
