COHO Salmon Rigging Tips for Trolling (Using a BARBECUE Skewer as a Weed Guard?!!)

Troll fisheries in shallow water are always a great time and a very good opportunity to put fish in the box. Duane prefers the 1065 SAR 360 pro from Edge Rods. They work very well for 360-flashers or in-line flashers with lead - although they work for the downrigger as well. Duane uses 60lb braid, with a "weed-grabber" - size 3 barrel swivel and a barbecue skewer! This grabs weeds before they get to your flasher or bait.

A duo-lock swivel is connected to a bead chain to the bumper of 200lb mono. This of course has a weight dropper. Learn about leader sizes for the flasher and the bait. You'll also learn about some brines and scents for your herring (in this case with a helmet).
