How long should it take you to get your first investment in real estate starting from scratch?

The answer, unsurprisingly, depends on how much you already have to work with. There are five forms of equity that everyone has, and it's up to you to leverage them all in the quantities and combinations you have to get started. They are:

1.) Relationship Equity - how does your family feel about placing such a large amount of time, money, and effort into an investment?
2.) Knowledge Equity - what do you know about what you're investing into?
3.) Financial Equity - what finances do you have at your disposal to invest?
4.) Mindset Equity - are you ready from a mindset point of view to take on the challenges and risks to get to the rewards?
5.) Behavioral Equity - do you have the routines and the time to actually make it happen?

As a general guideline, for most corporate professional workers, you can expect usually 5-6 months if you are actively involved and motivated, otherwise, it'd be 2-3 months for passive investors if you are very serious.
