Tom Sexton, a thirty year veteran of the Rails to Trails Conservancy (RTC) talks here about the importance of completing the “Major Spines” that each state has to protect the integrity of safe, regional trail access. New Hampshire’s Major Spine is the Granite State Rail Trail and while its biggest gap is from Concord NH to Manchester NH, it is the 1.6 mile segment within the City of Manchester that has become the focus of the all-volunteer, Manchester Moves organization. Completing this segment connects the city of Manchester to the rest of the State via trails and greenways.
Jason Soukup (pictured to the right of Tom) and Garrett Mclarty of Manchester Moves took Tom on a tour of several sections of the local Manchester rail trails.
