Описание к видео How to Hang Pencil Pleat Curtains | Step by Step Guide

This is our easy, step by step curtains tutorial for how to hang Pencil Pleat Curtains. The Design shown in the video is from our ready made collection which you can see here: https://www.woodyattcurtains.com/curt...

Step 1: Our first Step is to take you curtains out of the packet and read the ironing instructions on the labels on the curtains to make sure your iron is on the correct setting and lightly iron any creases out.

Step 2: Is too Knot off one end of the curtain tape, this stops you pulling the chords through the curtain tape which would ruin your curtains. Pull all three chords out from the end of the curtain tape and then hold these chords and pull the curtain tape approx 6 inches. Then twist all three chords together to make it easier. Then do a big loop and make a simply granny knot and then tuck the knot in the side of the curtain between the curtain tape and the face fabric

Step 3: What is the finished width of each individual curtain. There are a pair of curtains one on each side. So you need to grab your tape measure and measure from the centre of the pole to the end of the pole where your finial is. Basically what the curtains is going to cover, for example this one is 115cm wide. This is the finished width we need to pull the curtain tape up too.

Step 4: All curtains are double gather so this one is 229cm wide as the curtain is flat, we are now going to pull up the heading tape so the finished width is 115cm wide. So it will then fit the curtain pole. Now you have already knotted off one end of the curtain tape, now find the other side and pull your three chords out and start gathering up your curtain tape. You need to try and get the pencils or the gathers in the curtain as even as possible. Spend a min or so getting the gathers spread out as evenly as possible. Then you have the three chords on the end you need to tidy away.

Step 5: You know need to do a slip knot. A top trick is to twist all chords together before you do your slip knot. We also find it really difficult to do a slip knot right on the edge of the curtain tape because your finger take up some space. So it it needs to be 115cm wide we would recommend gathering it up an extra 5 cm or two inches so it is approx 110cm , Then when you do your slip knot this will be approx 2 inches from the edge of the curtain tape. So once you have your fingers out of the way the curtains will go back to the slip knot which is 115cm so it will be the correct width. Then tuck the extra chord behind the curtain tape.

Step 6: Now you need to look at your curtain pole and count the number of rings that are going to fit to your curtain. For example this curtain pole has 15 rings for one curtain. We now need to divide the 15 rings by the 69 pockets on the curtain tape. When you look closely at the curtain tape you can see there is three different levels you can put the curtain hooks in. This depends on how high you would like the curtains to hang. For curtain poles we normally recommend you put them in the top level. You need to slide the hooks in upside down and then twist them in the right way, so they can hook onto the rings on the curtain pole. You then work across the tape every 4 or 5 pockets so your 15 hooks are evenly spread out across the width.

Step 7: Find something safe to stand on. Then all you need to do is put the curtain hooks into the rings on the pole. Do one at a time and go along. So that's one side and do exactly the same on the other side and that's finished.
