characterized by rational thought and logical reasoning. In this Age of Enlightenment video,
we are discussing the historical background,
literary features & major writers of this age.

The scientific revolution and the Age of Enlightenment are closely linked. Isaac Newton, Galileo, Kepler & Copernicus are the key figures of the scientific revolution.

The Age of Enlightenment can be divided into two halves:
- The Augustan Age/ The NeoClassical Age/ The Age of Pope (1700-1750 AD)
-The Age of Transition/ Pre-Romantic Age
(1750-1798 AD)

The Augustan Age in English Literature was characterized by prose writing, rise of novel, popularity of political writing, satires, and development of coffee houses and political clubs.
