In this video, I review Witches Among Us by Thorn Mooney, a grounded, thoughtful exploration of contemporary witchcraft as it is actually lived and practised today. This isn’t a book about fantasy witches, aesthetics, or social-media spells. It’s about real people, real traditions, and the often uncomfortable realities of magical community.

Mooney approaches witchcraft with honesty and restraint, examining issues of authority, tradition, lineage, ethics, and identity within modern pagan and witchcraft spaces. The book asks difficult questions about belonging, legitimacy, and how power operates in magical communities, without romanticising the answers.
