October Sunshine -- 1976 Glastron/Carlson CVX-20, 455 Olds

Short teaser video taken 1 October 2013, Party Cove area, Canyon Lake TX. 1976 was the first year for the CVX20, and some of the first year models (not all) were made with the 455 Olds engine, prior to the switch to 460 Ford. You don't see many of these boats with the 455. This boat is not the deluxe version made next production year, came new with no frills... NO windshield, center console, hand rails, ski pylon, not even navigation lights!... Just a simple, clean, muscle boat. There is beauty in the simplicity of the design... timeless IMHO. The windshield was added later by previous owner. I had to make some adjustments to it, it originally sat too low. Not original interior, but nicely done. Had to redo just about everything from teak, bilge vents, carpet, interior rub rail, pump bearings, engine, etc. OleRed in OKC helped spring 2013 to install new rebuilt 455, bored .60 over, running Torker 455 intake, Holley Carb, stock exhaust. Pump rebuilt by Hi-Tech Performance, Shell Knob MO. Boat will run approx. 60mph WOT, but the 455 doesn't like to stay there... it's more of a cruiser.
