The session began on Wednesday, with the BJP demanding that Rahul Gandhi be punished for his remarks about the Prime Minister. Mr. Gandhi spearheaded the Opposition's onslaught on the BJP regime over the Adani issue on Tuesday. The Congress politician attributed Gautam Adani's increase in commercial fortunes and personal wealth to the Modi government's election in 2014. The Treasury benches reacted angrily to his words. Before PM Modi's speech in Lok Sabha today, Opposition Leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary slammed the BJP. He also accused the BJP of growing political crops. Adhir Ranjan, on the other hand, accused the ruling party of raising the issue of the President's caste. The first few days of the session were almost wiped out as the Opposition stopped proceedings on the Adani issue, demanding a discussion and an investigation into claims levelled against the organisation.
